24, 1992: |
Developed through its parent
body the Nippon League of Competitive Ballroom Dancing
(NLCBD), the Japan Ballroom Dance Federation (JBDF) was
authorized by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports,
Science and Technology as a public service corporation
presiding over both the professional and amateur ballroom
dancing. |

1992: |
JBDF has started to organize various annual
competitions such as the Japan International Dancing Championships. |

1992: |
JBDF has started to conduct annual qualifying
examinations for instructors/coaches (commercial sport
facilities instructors and amateur regional instructors). |

1999: |
JBDF has started to hold congresses and
conduct examinations annually for professional dancing
instructors/coaches. |

2001: |
JBDF has accepted a report on
the development of a dancing culture for the 21st century. |

February 2002: |
JBDF has launched a project to support an
introduction of ballroom dancing into public school physical
education. |

February 2004: |
Renewal of JBDF logotype and an introduction
of a sub-symbol.
Initiation of the "Dancing Day." |

August 2005: |
JBDF has started to organize an annual All
Japan Championships for Primary, Junior and Senior High
School Students. |
